If your prices fluctuate often for some items you may want to have the system prompt you for the prices. This article will show you how to set that up for those products and how it works in the Front End. See what you can do!

Setting Up Product Prompt for Price

You will need to log into the Back End to set up this function. Do the following steps to set up Prompt for Price for a product:

1. Click to open the main Products menu.
2. Click Product Maintenance.
3. Search by keyword or scan the product's barcode.
4. If needed, click the specific product to load its data.
5. Click Properties.
6. Check the box for Prompt for Price.
7. Click the Save button in the upper right to save your changes to the product.

Repeat the above steps for any other products you need to prompt for the price. See the section below on how this works in the Front End.

Prompt for Price in the Front End

After logging into the Front End and starting a transaction, here are the steps for using Prompt for Price on an item:

1. In the Front End, when you scan in the item's barcode or enter it another way, the Enter a Price window will open for you as pictured above.
2. Enter the item's Price.
3. Click or tap the Enter button or the OK button.
4. The item will be added to the Register with the price you entered.
