How to Void Items

If a customer changes their mind about something or a cashier accidentally scans the wrong item, you can easily void it in the system. Read on to see how you can quickly void an item.  This article is for voiding individual items from a transaction. If you’d like to instead cancel an entire transaction, read our article about Canceling a Transaction linked at the bottom of this article.

Please Note: If you need to give employees the ability to void items in the Front End, go to the Back End and navigate to Employees > Roles > Front End > select the role > Transactions area > Void Item.

 

How to Void Items

  1. Click or tap on the item in the transaction you want to void. You’ll know it’s selected if the item becomes highlighted, as in the image below.

  2. Click or tap on Void.
  3. The item will display at the bottom of the transaction in red with the letters VD to show it was voided. The original line item will remain for reference and will display in green but will no longer be active in the transaction. Image of a transaction on the  Front End.
